Airborne – only the occasional antenna

The ITOWN network is broadband by air. Using high frequency radio signal carriers in 2,4 GHz and 5,8GHz range the broadband is brought to each client by transmitting signals like an FM radio station is transmitting its radio program. However, the signals are encrypted in such a way that only our clients are able to connect to our network, using a special coding system.

In this way we can obtain a very high speed in our transmission through air without the signal being disturbed by interference from other radio signals or any other electrical disturbances.

If the distance to the client is far, the signal will be weaker, just like the local FM radio station in town only covers the city area. For long distance transfer of our service we therefore use a repeater antenna system, which will ensure that the signal strength is reactivated and made available in the area around the extending mast. In this way we can easily offer our services in areas where the other ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) have no landline or cable network.
